Divorce with shared property · 11 months
Situation
A couple of eighteen years with a jointly owned home and a small import business. The main disagreement was over the business valuation and how ongoing income would be handled after the divorce.
Approach
An independent valuer was brought in for the business. Correspondence was held twice at the client's request to allow time to consider proposals. Joint sessions were avoided; correspondence with the other side went through solicitors throughout.
Outcome
A negotiated settlement covering the property, a buyout of the business interest and a structured maintenance arrangement. No contested hearing was needed. Final orders made at 11 months.
Child arrangements · 6 months
Situation
Two school-age children. Both parents wanted to maintain meaningful contact but disagreed on how weekends and school holidays should work. Communication between the parents had broken down.
Approach
Mediation was recommended before any court application. A specialist family mediator facilitated three sessions. Titian Kasih drafted the resulting parenting arrangement and reviewed it with the client before it was signed.
Outcome
An agreed parenting plan signed by both parties. No court application was required. The plan accounts for term time, school holidays and extracurricular commitments specifically. Completed in six months.

A client in an uncertain position — not sure whether separation was likely, concerned about what would happen to the jointly owned home and wanting to understand their rights without triggering any formal process.
Approach
The consultation covered the legal framework around matrimonial property, what the client could do now to document their position and the range of outcomes in different scenarios. Nothing was filed; no letter was sent to the other party.
Outcome
Written notes provided. The client chose not to proceed with any formal steps at that stage. No further action was taken by the office. The client returned fourteen months later when circumstances changed.
