What shapes the way we work

No pressure to proceed

You can speak to us, take notes away, and decide later. We will not follow up unless you ask us to.

Strict confidentiality

Nothing discussed with us reaches anyone outside the office without your consent, including the other party.

Your pace, not ours

We can hold correspondence if you need time. Legal processes move on fixed tracks; we help you understand where you have room to pause.

Plain language at every stage

Court documents use formal terms that can feel distancing. We translate them into ordinary sentences before sharing anything with you.

Mediation where it fits

We will say clearly when a family is likely to fare better through mediation than proceedings — even if that means less work for us.

Local knowledge

Based in Subang Jaya, familiar with the Selangor family courts and the community resources available alongside legal proceedings.

Not sure where to begin? A first conversation costs less than you might expect.

The confidential first consultation is ninety minutes, RM 165, and carries no obligation. You leave with written notes and a clearer picture of what your options are.

Questions people often ask

Do I have to decide on the spot whether to proceed with a divorce?
No. The first consultation is a space to understand your situation and the routes available. You leave with written notes and are under no obligation to take any next step. If and when you are ready to proceed, you contact us — we will not chase.
Will my spouse know I have spoken to a lawyer?
Not through us. What you share with Titian Kasih remains within the office. We do not contact the other party, their advisers, or anyone else without your instruction. If joint sessions are ever proposed, you would agree to that in advance.
How long does a divorce in Malaysia typically take?
For matters we handle — typically those involving property, shared businesses or long marriages — the realistic range is six to fourteen months. Simpler cases with full cooperation between parties can resolve more quickly. We will give you a more specific picture once we understand your situation.
What determines who the children live with?
Malaysian family courts consider the welfare of each child as the primary concern. The practical shape of the family's week, each parent's involvement historically, and the children's own expressed views (where they are of an age to have them) all carry weight. We look at the specifics of your family rather than abstract arrangements.
Can the consultation happen outside office hours or by video?
Yes. The first consultation is available in person at our Subang Jaya office, by telephone, or by video — whichever suits your circumstances. Appointments outside standard hours can be arranged; please mention this when you get in touch.
What does the fee for divorce proceedings cover?
The quoted fee from RM 640 covers legal representation throughout the process — petition, correspondence, negotiation and the orders required to finalise matters. Court filing fees are separate and vary by case. We set out a clear breakdown before any work begins so there are no surprises.
