How Titian Kasih came to be
The name Titian Kasih — which translates roughly as "bridge of care" — reflects what the practice was set up to do: hold a steady path between two sides of a family going through change.
The office opened in Subang Jaya after its founding lawyer spent several years in a larger firm handling high-value commercial disputes. That experience was useful, but it became clear that family matters require a different kind of attention — one where the emotional weight of a situation is acknowledged, not bracketed off so the legal work can proceed.
Titian Kasih was set up as a small practice precisely to allow that kind of attention. There is no volume target, no matter treated as routine. Each file is handled by the lawyer you meet at the first consultation.
What we are trying to do
Family law in Malaysia operates through a formal court structure, but most of what shapes a good outcome happens in the space between: in correspondence, in negotiation, in the decisions made about when to push and when to wait.
We are trying to give clients a clear, honest account of where they stand and what their choices are — without pressure in either direction. That means saying when mediation or a negotiated arrangement is more likely to serve a family than a contested hearing. It means explaining cost and timeline in plain terms before any work begins. And it means working at a pace that suits the client rather than the office calendar.
The practice is based in Subang Jaya and serves clients across Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. Video and telephone appointments are available for those who are not able to come in.

Syarifah Azura
Principal Lawyer
Called to the Malaysian Bar in 2011, Syarifah Azura has practised exclusively in family law since 2017. She handles all three service areas and conducts every first consultation personally.
Ravindran Kumar
Legal Executive
Ravindran manages case correspondence, court filing and document preparation. He has worked in family law administration for over eight years and is the main point of contact for procedural questions.

Client Services
Hui Ong handles initial enquiries and appointment scheduling. She is usually the first voice clients hear and takes care to respond to every message within one working day.

Malaysian Bar membership
The principal lawyer is a practising member of the Malaysian Bar with a current practising certificate. Membership requires annual compliance with continuing professional development requirements.
Client confidentiality
Everything shared with the office is covered by legal professional privilege. We do not discuss a client's matter with any third party without written instruction, and we do not contact the other party without the client's agreement.
Transparent cost estimates
Before any work begins, we provide a written estimate covering legal fees and likely court costs. We do not proceed without your agreement and we inform you promptly if scope changes.
Professional indemnity
The practice carries professional indemnity cover as required by Bar Council regulations. This protects clients in the unlikely event of a professional error.
Plain-language communication
All letters, documents and court papers are explained in ordinary English before they are sent or filed. We do not assume legal knowledge on the part of clients.
Responsive communication
We respond to client messages within one working day. For urgent matters outside office hours, a contact number is provided at the start of every matter.
Family legal matters in Selangor — a different kind of practice

The practice focuses on three areas — divorce proceedings and financial arrangements, child arrangements and maintenance, and confidential first consultations — because these cover most of what families in Subang Jaya and Selangor need when a relationship changes. We refer out to specialist practitioners where other areas of law are involved, such as Islamic family law or criminal matters.
Malaysian family law under the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976 has specific procedural requirements. Understanding those requirements fully, and knowing where discretion exists within them, is the core of what we bring to each matter. We keep current with Malaysian family law through Bar Council publications and continuing education.
The Selangor family court system has its own rhythms and timeframes. Knowing how cases typically move through the Shah Alam courts — and what affects that pace — allows us to give realistic timelines rather than optimistic ones.
