Every matter begins with a conversation — either a paid first consultation or, in straightforward cases, a brief telephone call to establish whether the matter falls within what we handle. The lawyer you speak to at that stage is the lawyer who handles your matter throughout.
Before any work begins, we set out a written estimate covering expected legal fees and court costs. We explain in ordinary language what each step involves, what it requires of you and what the realistic range of outcomes looks like.
We work at your pace. Correspondence can be held. Joint sessions with the other party are arranged only where you wish. Where mediation or an agreed arrangement is more likely to serve your family than court proceedings, we say so plainly.

Service 1
Divorce Proceedings & Financial Arrangements
Representation through the full course of a divorce, covering the petition, division of matrimonial assets, maintenance arrangements and the orders needed to give effect to them.
The office works at the client's pace, will hold correspondence if a client asks for time, and sets out at each stage what the realistic range of outcomes looks like rather than a single expected figure. Suited to matters involving property, shared businesses or long marriages.
Joint sessions with the other party's representative are arranged only where the client wishes. Ordinarily six to fourteen months.

Child Arrangements & Maintenance
Advice and representation on where children live, how time is shared and what financial support is provided — prepared with attention to the practical shape of a family's week rather than an abstract schedule.
The office will say plainly when mediation is likely to serve a family better than proceedings. Two to eight months depending on cooperation between the parties.

Confidential First Consultation
A ninety-minute private meeting to talk through a situation without any commitment to act on it. The lawyer explains the routes available, what each typically involves in time and expense, and what a client can do now to keep options open.
Notes are given to the client and nothing is kept on an active file unless they ask for it. Available in person, by telephone or by video, including outside office hours by arrangement.
